Life Of A Part-Time Mermaid

"when you threw me to the wolves that night,
did you think they’d find me easy to swallow?
you’ve loved me more than the others; you know i claw and scream on the way down.

of course i bit back. i learned to love the moon.
i wore wolf skins as easily as my own.
i growled at death and watched him run.

please know that if you feel the hair rise on the back
of your neck, sense a shadow in the bathroom
mirror, find eyes in the thick of night, i am here.

i do not hunger after you.
i imagine you’ll taste exactly as i remember: sour, chalky, gritty. dirt under my nails.
i will be bored of this form soon.

i suggest next time, you try feeding me to dragons. — A STUDY IN SURVIVAL | m.c."

Me
I've been broken, I've loved and I've been hurt. A best friend, a hard worker, a loyal lover. I am simply human.

I got a new deck, Oracle of The Mermaids. I had been searching for Tarot Of The Mermaids. But somehow, in my head, it got changed to Oracle. So for months now I've been looking for the Oracle deck, I bought it thinking it was the Rider Waite based deck I'd been looking at. And well it wasn't. But I think if I searched for months under the wrong name I was probably supposed to have this deck and have this deck I shall.
So I've been doing the whole bonding thing, trying to learn what each card means. Oracles are an entirely new thing for me. I've never worked with them before, and quite frankly the whole book is a little confusing to learn the meanings from. I started to write down the vibes I get and based on each key word description go from there as to what I think each card means, and using the art and stuff. I made a whole little book for it because right now I can't make heads or tales of the book they came with description wise.
Nothing says confusing like drawing a card that says Coral's Wisdom and it talking about what each color of coral is good for healing. You know....dead Coral, that turns one of like 2 colors upon dying and not the array she's talking about.

But the deck is good for romantic situations which is sorta funny considering.

I'm also rearranging my room and building a canopy for my bed so that I have a hideaway Cabana. And uh... sucking at finding a job.
